how i fell in ♥ with: Tim Urban

{disclaimer}
Sometimes I write posts and then forget to post them.
&& then I find them monthes later in my 'drafts' section.
Yep. This is one of those blogs...
***
I owe it all to Ellen really...
Yep. There. On @TheEllenShow.

Granted she talked about how 'adorable' he was while on Idol
and the few times I watched Idol, I thought he was cute but...meh

But Friday the 23rd {of April} he was on Ellen.
I had recorded it because I am half in love with Chloe Moretz, who was a guest.

Well his interview was like Idol, adorable.
then he sang Hallelujah on Ellen:
and I died
of swoon overload.

...
...
...

k. I'm back again.

So you can learn more about him here:
&& you can swoon over his music here:

I liked what the above quote meant for Rosie.
Plus it just reads cuteness!

  Such a great quote!
It just is!

My Banned Book List

I hate not being able to finish a book.
Hate is a strong word.
So, yeah--
I hate not being able to finish a book.

I have many friends who are born writers...
I have seen how much work, blood, sweat and tears go into each creation.
So when I cant finish a book, it hurts my heart.
I feel like I am betraying the author--
like I am 'pooh-pooh'ing all their hard work.
Then I get over it at 1am and write this blog.

Kat's Banned Book List:
  • The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
    by Stieg Larsson
    • Why it and it's successors are banned: I don't think it translated into English well. Each page dragged on and on. I was interested in the characters but it took pages to learn a micro-fact about them. I tried and tried to get through this book. I didn't finish.

    • hush, hush
      by Becca Fitzpatrick
      • Why it and it's successors are banned: I muscled my way through this book. Although, I was intrigued by a few characters, the book was so slow. So slow. I didn't feel enthralled until Chapter 23. I mean, I shouldn't even remember the chapter. Also it did not help that I wanted to punch the main character's best friend each time she turned up on a page. Not good.

So, as of now, this list only has 2 series on it.
    That is pretty darn good.
But that isn't to say that it won't be added to someday.
For the sake of the author-world,
I hope it isn't anytime soon.

    Spring Awakening: ifreakinglovethisshow

If you have been around my blog for a bit,
you know I have been a fan of Spring Awakening for a while now.

But "fan" doesn't really cover my feelings for this show...
    Obsession.
    Addiction.
    Intense love.
    ZOMYGOSHIFREAKINGLOVETHISSHOW!!!
    ...work much better, no doubt.

So back in October (or something)
when the 2nd National Tour was announced,
    I. WAS. IN!
Spring Awakening returned to the Denver Center this week--
aaaaaand basically I *DIED* two nights in a row.
I don't even know if I can find the words..
This show means so much to me.
I miss it so much already.

I was lucky enough to go both nights in Denver.
Below are the photos from Tuesday and Wednesday night.
    Thank goodness for cameras.

[photo set by M. Flippin, R. Cole and myself ]

&& not gonna lie, my heart is breaking over not knowing
when I will be able to lose myself in the live atmosphere of this
beautiful, hypnotic, fantastic, emotional roller-coaster show again...

What I do know is that next time SA returns to a stage near me,
    I. AM. THERE. At least 3 more times. SRS, FRC & SLS baby!
    As for this tour...
It still has 42 cities to hit up in the US & Canada.
So whether or not you have seen Spring Awakening,
I strongly suggest that you see if your city is listed here.
I mean then you can brag about it to me on your blog!
    ;o)

Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict [10/50]

    Empire dresses and timid courtship!
    *wistful sigh*
    =]
Rating: Great bedtime story for Austen-land dreams.

    *spoiler free*

I read this book before bed over a few nights.
After finishing it I feel 3 things:
1- It was an easy read and a fun one,

as I do love the Austen world and throwing a 21st C mind in the mix-
well it certainly can take a bit of the romance out
and make an Austen fangirl think.
i.e. Life before toilets and TP.
    Life before modern medicine.
2- Rigler's nose really has clocked some serious Austen-time
She's much better at referencing Austen than that Fowler woman.
The quotes and references didn't over power the story.
3- It was a little like 'Lost in Austen' (which I loved btw)
but different enough that I liked it.

This quote really stuck with me:
    Cray, eh?
Ladies have come so far since then.
And then there is that marriage issue.

    {an aside}
      But SRSLY!
If you haven't watched Lost in Austen,
    DO IT!
